About the Artist

Oswaldo Dumont — The Art of the Classics

I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1972, with a pencil almost always in my hand. From my earliest school years, my notebooks were filled with drawings — a passion my parents recognized and nurtured from the very beginning.

Over time, I turned that talent into a career: I studied illustration and editorial design, and worked as an artistic illustrator for advertising agencies, publishing houses, magazines, and newspapers. Art has always been my language.

My love for classic cars was born in adolescence, sparked by my father — a fellow admirer of the classics. Together we visited the Caracas Transportation Museum and exhibitions throughout the city. I fell in love with their timeless design, the power of their engines, and the craftsmanship with which they were built to last. The '69 Dodge Charger, the '70 Mustang, the '70 Chevelle, and the '68 Camaro are my greatest inspirations.

Nine years ago, life brought me to Utah, United States, where I now live with my family. From this corner of the world, I merge my two great passions — art and classic automobiles — into illustrations that celebrate the golden era of the American car.
